Vada Chennai – Simbu team with Vetrimaran

Finally it is Official; Vetrimaran the accalimed director of Polladhavan, Aadukalam will be starting his much delayed project Vada Chennai. This time it is not the director's favorite actor Dhanush, the role will be donned by young superstar Simbu.

Vada Chennai was the movie which Vetrimaran has started with Dhanush after Polladhavan release but circumstances made the project to delay. Now it has moved into good hands, Vada Chennai will be produced by none other than Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Vaanam fame.

The league of Vada Chennai gets bigger each day, GV Prakash Kumar has joined the team. Vada Chennai portays the lifestyle of Vysarpadi, Madhavaram, Kolathur areas.

Simbu in "Delhi Belly" remake????????

Director Kannan who gave hits like Jeyam Kondaan, Kandaen Kadhalai will be directing the Tamil remake of the Delhi Belly. A source says, 'Kannan is currently in Puducherry, discussing the script for Delhi Belly. John Mahendran, who earlier directed Sachien, is penning the dialogues for the Tamil remake and the cast of the film will be decided soon.'

Interestingly, the buzz was that Simbu would be reprising Imran Khan’s character in the film.

The Bollywood flick came under the scanner for extensive use of cuss words and there was even a protest against its screening in theatres.

Now, the Kollywood audience will have to wait and see how Kannan and John manage to tone down the expletives, and yet, retain the essence of the film.

After 'Vandhaan Vendraan' with Jiiva and Taapsee, the filmmaker, Kannan is now working on his next venture with vim and vigour, and we have details about it. It is said the film will be entirely different from his earlier venture as he will bring to Tamil the Bollywood blockbuster 'Delhi Belly'.

Assisting Kannan in this attempt of him is John Mahendran, who wielded the megaphone for Vijay-Genelia D' Souza starrer 'Sachein'. If sources are to be believed, John is busy penning dialogues at a resort in Puducherry, in association with Kannan.

A popular face is expected to play the protagonist in the Tamil remake of Delhi Belly, which is to be produced by a leading company. While some say it is going to be STR, there are others who say that it is a totally different person, who would give a surprise to the audience.

A hunt is on for the heroine role too. "Kannan wants to keep matters related to his next venture under wraps until things take a final shape. Everything related to the project will be made clear in a week or too," say circles close to the development.

'Osthi': Who plays what?

While we know that STR is playing a carefree cop Velan in his forthcoming film 'Osthi', here goes the list of other characters from this film that has set in much expectations among the young and masses at urban and rural centers.

Naasser plays STR's father, while Revathy his mother. 'Jithan' Ramesh is Simbu's brother in this movie and his love interest is Saranya Mohan. Needless to say, Richa Gangopadhyay, the Tollywood import, plays Simbu's lady love.

Wait, we have more to say. Simbu's close friend and producer VTV Ganesh has played Richa's father in this film directed by Dharani, while Santhanam, Mayilsamy and Vaiyapuri have played the colleagues of the hero in police station. And Thambi Ramaiah is playing a crucial character role.

Sonu Sood has done a powerful baddie and 'Osthi' will be an important film in his career, it is said. Simbu's special song with Mallika Sherawat, 'Kalasala...' has been picturised on a whopping budget and plans are on to release the movie by the end of this month.

After Osthi Simbu is ready for Vada Chennai

After Aadukalam, director Vettrimaran is all set to commence his next for producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri.The movie tentatively titled Vada Chennai will has STR aka Simbu in the lead role.

'Vada Chennai, will go on floors from February and Simbu has been cast in the lead. Amala Paul, Tollywood actor Ram and Kishore have been roped in to play important roles. Meanwhile, he’s also eager to restart work on his Desiya Nedunchalai, a project that he worked on with Dhanush.'

Ever since Vetri Maaran delivered two hits back-to-back, his third venture has been much anticipated, both by the industry and the audience. Even as he was gearing up to release his Aadukalam, an official announcement was made regarding his next project at the far end of last year.

Osthi star Simbu is ready with six packs!!!

The climax of Osthi is being shot in Chennai. Interestingly   it would be a fighting sequence between Simbu and villain Sonu Sood.

Simbu will flaunt six-pack abs for the scene and he would rip off his shirt and shoot for the sequences. Simbu had hit the gym hard and developed six pack abs for the scene.

Osthi is a remake of Hindi hit Dabbang. If Salman Khan was Chulbul Pandey in Dabbang, Simbu plays Osthi Velan in Tamil version. Richa Gangopadhyaya plays his heroine. Simbu said that he worked hard to get six pack abs for 30 days and his fans will enjoy it.

Directed by Dharani, the movie would be released soon.

Vijay, Valee in Osthi audio launch

Finally the audio of Silambarasan's 'Osthi' was launched and with much fanfare. The audio launch took place on October 19 and Ilayathalapathy Vijay was the surprise chief guest at the event, who launched the audio which received by Valee, lyricist. The movie, a remake of Hindi hit Dabbang, features Silambarasan and Richa in the lead roles. Directed by Dharani, the movie has music by S Thaman.

At the audio launch, all the songs from the Osthi album were played by live orchestra led by Thaman.  Silambarasan also appeared on stage and sang Cute Pondatti, penned by him for the film.

While Simbu aka STR was dressed in his 'Osthi' getup, of a cop, Richa was spotted in a bright red saree whereas Vijay was seen in his casual best. The event was graced by various other celebs apart from the cast and crew, including KS Ravikumar, Vijaykumar, Bhagyaraj, Kalaipuli Dhanu, Nassar, Myilsamy, Jai, Vaibhav, Mahat, Premgi and many others. Vijay donated money to blind children at the event and the show was hosted by Jagan along with another anchor.

Various programs were performed on stage including Simbu singing the 'Pondatti...' track for the gathered, a song he penned and crooned in the album. Whereas his father, T Rajendar entertained audiences with his mimicry and playback singers sang songs from the film...

After the event, speaking on the launch Simbu commented, "Osthi audio launch was a huge success, thanks to all my fans for making it special and Ilayathalapathy Vijay Anna for coming down, knowing the fact that I am an agmark Thala fan! Shows how stars should be! I hope my fans love all the songs".

Simbu : Mallika Sherawat is such a fun professional

Mallika Sherawat, who shakes her legs for the Kalasala song in Osthi( i.e. the remake of munni song in Dabanng). A long confusion tossed around the item number in Munni song, finally Mallika Sherawat shake her legs for the kalasala song in Osthi.

While asking about the shooting of kalasala song Simbu says that,”Mallika is such a fun professional. She has the right attitude towards work and people. It’s pleasure working with her”.

Mallika Sherawat stated about this song as,” This munni song will upbeat more than the original version”.

Simbu starring 'Osthi' too not for Diwali

The much-hyped Osthi, a remake of Hindi hit Dabangg starring Silambarasan in the lead role was slated for release this Diwali.

But at the last moment it is made known that the movie will not hit the screens. Sources close to the unit say that the post-production works may take little more time and that they may withhold the release this Diwali.

The movie directed by Dharani features Simbu playing the role enacted by Salman Khan in the original while Richa plays his ladylove. Sonu Sood is also in the cast. S Thaman has scored the music and Mallika Sherawat has appeared for a song in it.

Simbu confirms 'Osthi' as a Diwali release

Diwali releases are successfully making more than a headline each passing day and '7aum Arivu' had also announced its theatre list in the city and 'Velayudham' its international release date. And the latest is that, Simbu has confirmed his 'Osthi' as a Diwali release as well!

Grapevine is abuzz that Reliance Entertainments is trying to book theatres in the city for this Dharani directed venture! Simbu has expressed that the film will be a perfect package for Diwali as it has a mass appeal for all centers and has a bigger target audience.

Simbu recently crooned for the 'Pondati...' song in 'Osthi' and expressed through his microblogging page that all the songs have been completed. The film will see an audio and a trailer launch on October 6, when an official confirmation from Simbu and Dharani to the media in a formal press meet is expected.

Through the years it has been proven how films gain more revenue when it releases during a long holiday or festivals. Although four films have confirmed their slots for Diwali, 'Velayudham', '7aum Arivu', 'Osthi' and 'Mayakkam Enna', we'll have to wait to know which banner manages to get more theatre space, based on the target centers of course.

Tamil Munni of 'Osthi' audio from October 6!

Silambarasan aka Simbu's 'Osthi' that is gearing up for a Diwali release will see an audio launch this October 6! Although the fad of releasing a single track before the audio release has set in Kollywood, this movie will see a full album launch on October 6, contrary to their initial plans of going ahead with a single track release.

Quoted STR, "We are deliberately delaying the single because the main audio is releasing on October 6 along with the trailer. So there isn't much time for a single. So it will be a direct audio launch without the single. Four songs have been completed and even Munni will be done very soon".

The team has also wrapped up their single schedule of 'Osthi' that was canned in Mysore for about 87 days! They are back to Chennai and are busy with post-production work on the film and are gearing up for a glitzy audio release ceremony on October 6.

Whether anyone from the original film will grace the audio launch, we'll have to wait to know. Simbu does it for Ajith in 'Osthi'

Well if your wondering what we are referring to, Simbu, a die-hard fan of Ajith has a tribute to his thala's 'Mankatha' in his forthcoming Diwali release 'Osthi'!

Ajith's well-received dialogue in 'Mankatha', 'Naanum Evalavu Naalthaan Nallavanavae Nadikirathu...' set a rage among the young and now Simbu will be using this one-liner in his 'Osthi' towards the end of the film.

'Mankatha' had a tribute to Simbu's 'Vaanam' dialogue, 'Enna Vazhka Da Idhu...', looks like the thala fan has something in store for his matinee idol now.

Another remake in the offing for STR – Delhi Belly in Tamil ?

As the ongoing project Osthi is on completion stage, we still remember that it is the remake of Hindi Dabanng which featured Salman Khan. Now STR is on the verge of showing his muscles to another remake of a popular movie Delhi Belly promoted by Aamir Khan. 

With much controversy looming on this movie, there are talks of remake for which STR seems to have given his nod. However, the movie will undergo certain changes to suit the nativity, as needed for every remake.

Since the cultural differences still persist over the North- South distinction, the language employed by Aamir Khan will certainly be scrapped for the Tamil version. While the Hindi version has the cast including Vir Das, Imran Khan, Kunak Roy Kapoor along with Aamir clamping his person in an item song. 

The information is almost on confirmation stage from Aamir who could not reveal the production banner. In the event of Tamil version, some popular hero has to take up the role of Aamir for that item which should peak the excellence.

Simbu Osthi for Diwali

Silambarasan's much - hyped film Osthi with Dharani will be completed on September 10th. Richa is the heroine. Jithan Ramesh will be playing the role done by Arbaaz Khan in the Hindi version. Sonu Sood is the villain. Music is by Thaman. The makers are hoping to release it for Diwali.

The final schedule has been happening in Mysore for quite some time and the team is working hard to finish it.

Osthi (Tamil: ஒஸ்தி) is an upcoming Indian Tamil action film directed by S. Dharani, starring Silambarasan in the lead role. A remake of the 2010 blockbuster Hindi film Dabangg, directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap and written by Dileep Shukla. This will feature Githan Ramesh, Bengali actress Richa Gangopadhyay, in her Tamil debut, Sonu Sood, reprising his role from the original, Nizhalgal Ravi and Revathi in supporting roles. The pooja was held at AVM studios in Chennai on May 10, 2011 to officially launch the film

Osthi is said to wrap up entire shooting of the film by August 5th.Director Dharani is in fast pace to finish the shooting of Osthi film. Osthi movie is being made with a budget of 30 crores and it is noteworthy that big production studios might bag the rights.The trade sources hoping whether Reliance Big Pictures or UTV Entertainment will be bagging the rights of the film.
