It was a moment of glory for the megastar of Tollywood Chiranjeevi as he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to cinema at the hands of none other than Rekha. Chiranjeevi, who said he had to now consider acting in films again because of Amitabh Bachchan’s request, had another request from Rekha.

Please act with me in one Hindi movie and then you can act in a Telugu movie,” she told Chiranjeevi. She spoke in Telugu much to the delight of the audience. Chiranjeevi said he was overjoyed at receiving the award but said it only meant he should achieve more.
Jayasudha, a politician now like Chiranjeevi, also received a Lifetime Award for her contribution from Venkatesh. If Rekha impressed all, the speech challenged actress Abhinaya who won the best actor supporting role (female) in Telugu, drew an applause as she tried to communicate to the audience how happy she was. Evening of glitz and glamour
The 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2010 (South) brought Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu stars together to recognize and applaud the best talent among them at the glittering ceremony organized in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.
For film personalities who dazzled at the event, it was, in fact, an occasion to celebrate cinema itself. Glitz and glamour combined with talent that stumped to make the occasion memorable not only for those who walked away with the honours but for everyone who took pride and pleasure just to be there.
Receiving the coveted awards at the hands of those who had already climbed peaks or created a name for themselves was a big thing for the award winners. The exclusive gathering at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre at Madhapur was left breathless at the scintillating performances by the stars including Tamanna, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani, Deeksha Seth, Ramya (Diya Spandana), Rachna Maurya, Yash and Sia Gautam (Aditie).
Fresh talent mingled with seasoned artistes in a manner nowhere seen. If some were there to draw inspiration and dream of holding the beautiful ‘black lady‘ in their hands in the not-so-distant future, the others were there because it was just the right place to be.
This time, the winners had the pleasure of taking home the ‘black lady‘, which was made to its original weight and design.
Apart from awards for best films, actors, and directors in the four languages, there was recognition even for singers, music directors, and lyricists who walked on to the podium that has always recognized true talent. And the emcees for the evening Lekha Washington and Arya carried the evening through creating the right spirit and atmosphere for a ceremony that would be etched in the memory of the stars for a long time to come.
