Powerstar and Superstar coming together.

December 9th is the most awaited day for both Mahesh and Powerstar fans.  Pawankalyan is going to strike his 'Panja' on 9th with the grand release. The movie is going to release in 1800 theaters world wide. Which is the record of tollywood. the movie already collected 50 crore and proved the stamina of Powerstar at Box-Office. The censor report had got positive buzz among the audience which made the movie expectations to cross the sky. So, it would be festival day for Pawan fans.


                                    After blockbuster like Dookudu Maheshbabu is strikingsoon with his prestigious crazy project The BusinessMan. The movie's firstlook and teaser had already released. Now, the second teaser of the movie is going to release on December-9th . So, Mahesh fans are eagerly waiting for it.

Well, the Inidan cinema has a culture of calculating the success of movies with the days it ran in the theatres. Average movies runs for 50 days, hit movies runs for 100 days and movies which crosses the mark of 150-175 are remarked as blockbuster. So, fans and the audience celebrate these success grandly on the account of their success. Once upon a time we generally used to see many movies crossing these boundaries of their run and marking their hits in the history of tollywood. But now a days it is like a dream for a movie to celebrate the silver jubilee  functions.
 What is lacking in it? 
 What are the consequences taking place in tollywood?
 Are we going to see the silver jubilee movies again?
           
               "Silver Jubilee Celebrations : The Golden Era of tollywood"
           
                                  Coming to the point not all 100 days movies have the equal success. These can be differentiated with the number of centers in which the movie is being played till 100 days.  The records varies from movie to movie and from star to star. But a film which ran 100 days in 50 centers may have only 10 centers by its 175 days. This is due to the releases of the big ticket movies which stops these movies running in the theaters replaced by the new movies. Considering the records of our present generation of actors their movies long run are irrespective of their collections made. This is due to change in the time generation which brought a lot of change with in a short span of time.
For Example:

•       Allu Arjun's Gangotri ran for 100 days in 54 centres where as his  Bunny movie had got just 35 centers. But commercially Bunny movie made 40% more profit than Gangotri.
•     Jr.NTR's biggest hit of his career Yamadonga has 63 centres for its 100 days where as his movie Aadhi has 95 centres for 100 days.

Centers Mania: In my view centers plays a main role in the success of the movie. I already informed you that not all 100 movies bags equal success. Our heroes takes this as a prestigious issue in having their movies running in the theaters successfully.  Have a glance of records till date on the centres: 

• Nanadamuri Balakrishna is the first person in making his movies such a big success having long-run in most of the theaters. No doubt, he was so called the box-office bonanza in creating the records. His movie Narasimha Naidu ran for 100 days in 105 centers.
• Later it was replaced by MegaStar Chiranjeevi with this blockbuster hit Indra with 117 theaters for 100 days and crossed the milestone easily within a short span of time.
• Here comes the Young Tiger NTR who erased all the records with his Super Hit movie Simhadri with a run of 100 days in 147 Centers.
• Later these records are replaced by Megastar again with his hit movie Tagore with the count of 192 centers.
• Later comes the Pokiri and Magadheera.

What is the main problem in this centers records?

                          Just like head and toss for the coin, every consequence is used to have two things good and bad. In my view these type of records have side effects too. These records may increase the fan following and the remuneration status of the hero. But it mainly affects the producers commercially. A normal person may have no need of records and collections he expects only good movies and the content in it. But fans don't need that. What they only expect from their heroes is Records and Collections. 

                                          In the same way fans need the records which stands as the proofs showing the success graph of their hero. To satisfy the fans producers and distributors keep their movie for long time against their wish.Theater owners too feel burden in running the theaters with such empty seats only for the records.In this situation empty theaters won't even make money for tickets, parkings, canteen which causes severe losses under bottom line.

                               In this sake the producers have to spend 10-20% of their own money which stands at their own risk. So, running the empty theaters for fans sake with lack of audience and income not only affects the theater owners.Small producers who want to release their movies in some theaters are facing threat from fans and cannot even dare to answer them.

Records Aaj Kal: 

           This is the age of piracy most of the people have been showing interest to watch the movies on small screen instead of silver-screen. Why should they watch the movies in theatres as they are getting the latest movies CDs with high quality. At an average a person has to spend 100/- for the movie on a head. But by the second day of release we can get 4 movies per DVD only @30/-. This is the worst situation the tollywood is experiencing since 4 years.So, we can conclude that the ideology of an Audion has been changed.

                                      Producers are intelligent too. Now, they are planning to release their big ticket movies in the highest number of theaters with huge number of prints. So, that most of the people can watch the movie and producer can get his budget invested mostly by the end of the first week of the movie.Dookudu and Oosaravelli movie comes under such cateogary. So, due to this even an ordinary movie can get huge collections which are marked as industrial hits now a days.

Short Life span of Telugu blockbusters : 

                           Jalsa released in over 1000 screens, grossed 20 crores in its first week. In the next 10 weeks the movie grossed another 22 crores. Nearly half the money it made was earned in the first one week itself. At 42 crores, the movie was telugu cinema’s second-highest grossing film back then. But it had only 25 centers for 100 days. Same case with Adhurs. The movie released in the most number of theatres, grossed over 20 crores at boxoffice in the first week. Went on to become one of the highest grossing films, yet it had only 15 centers for 100 days. Magadheera is Telugu cinema’s biggest hit till date. Yet it has only 3 centers for 175 days.

                If these movies had released with short number of prints likewise in olden days  they would have a long-run in theaters.

Conclusion: Silver Jubilee er has already ended and we find no silver jubilee movies furthur. These all happend between goden years of 2000-2008 which gifted us a blockbusters like Simhadri, Narasimha Naidu, Tagore etc., But new style of records will toucht the tollywood like: Movie which scored highest TRP ratings, Highest sold DVDs and Blueray Discs, Most viewed on net and Most downloaded from net....

Time is running for the Tamil Dubbing movies dominating Telugu movies having upper hand overthem. It’s familiar to everyone that the telugu cinema council had decided tocontrol the flow of dubbing movies in Andhra Pradesh. The entertainment tax ofTamil dubbing movies had been increased from 20% to 50%. But the effect wasonly up to small extent. The flow of dubbing movies on tollywood screen is notdecreased even.                                     Maheshbabu’s latest flick Dookudu hadcollected gross of 101 crores upt now as per the reports of the producer. Manycontroversies and queries had raised on this issue. This is because everytelugu audien had an basic idea that a telugu movie doesn’t have such a staminaof collecting 100 crores in 50 days. Keeping this aside Telugu Film Industryhad reached high standards and technically very advanced when compared to TamilFilm industry. Some factors affect the Telugu Market which makes the Tamilmovies market to take over Telugu movies. Here are some evidences for you..

Ø Rajinikanthcollects remuneration of 30croresfor his every movie. Surya takes the remuneration of 15crores per movie, Ajithtakes 12 crores and Vijay takes 12 crores. This is the remuneration list ofTamil actors. But did you know the highest remuneration of telugu actor is 9crores by Mahesbabu. The differenceis Tamil heroes have international market and huge fan following compared toTelugu heroes.

Ø The difference between Telugu and Tamilproducers is Tamil producers showinterest to  dub their movies into other languages andrelease them in their own production houses. Their cost of production value ismore and they invest more even in dubbing their movies. Robo, Rangam, Nanna are the some of the examples. Surya attainedhuge fan following even in Andhra Pradesh because he shows interest in dubbinghis movies to telugu. Later his brother Karthi followed his steps too byreleasing his every movie into telugu and made a separate market for him.

Ø Telugu producers show interest in selling theirremake rights to other languages. Irrespective of the original version of themovie Tamil heroes who acted in that movie gains some more craze over there.So, there would be no craze left for the telugu heroes there.Pokiri, Ready, Bommarillu are the some of theexamples.This is the main problem why our telugu heroes doesn’t make good marketin tamil. The heroes should take the initiative and make the producers torelease their movie in Tamil too.

Ø In the hunger of money our telugu producerssells the dubbing rights to tamil producers at the cheaper rate. Due to thissmall producers get the rights over the movie. They dub the movie with the poorquality of production and release them in BGrade theatres. A common Tamil person doesn’t even show interest onwatching that  movies of such low qualityposters and couldn’t find the good content in that movie.

Ø Tamil people are very craze about the moviesthey encourage the good movies. But our producer doesn’t show interest indubbing the movies and making the National wide market.

Ø Magadheeracollected 10crores in TN. This proved the stamina of telugu movie to the tamilpeople. So, now a day’s Tamil people are showing their interest on telugumovies which  are remade in theirlanguage  and increasing the craze oftheir heroes.

Ø Latest blockbuster Dookudu is an  universalsubject it can entertain the audience of all languages. Instead of dubbing thismovie into other languages and making the market the producers are now busy inincreasing the collections day by day with the empty theatres.

Ø Maheshbabusuggested  that Tamil hero ‘Vijay’ is the best opt for TamilDookudu. But he didn’t even thought of suggesting the producers in dubbing themovie. But good news is that Maheshbabu’s next movie Business Man is going torelease in 4 languages this would be definitely going to be the starting pointof telugu movies to start their International Market.

Ø AlluArjun is called as Mallu Arjunin Malluwood. He is gifted withgreat fan following in Malayam. Most of his movies are dubbed into Malayalamand he created a market over there. Prabhas had good fan follwong in Sandalwoodhis movies are dubbed in ‘Kannada’ language. Chatrapathi, Munna ,Darling,  Mr. Perfect stood as the blockbusters there.

Ø Being the top actor in Tollywood NTR failed tocreate market in other languages.His latest movie Shakthi marked as a disaster in Tamil and Malayalam too. But it’s afact that he has ability of collecting huge number and create records than allother heroes. It would be good if he concentrates on other languages too.

Ø Pawankalyanis the only actor in telugu who has the mighty fan following in the south. Infact he is the universal hero who entertains the audience only with his directtelugu movies. If his movies are dubbed in the other languages he would makethe huge market in the south. He has the record of holding the highest numberof fans in all the social networking sites. Recently his Panja trailer creatednew record on Youtube’s history by completing 2lakh views with in span of 2days. Panja is going to release in Telugu and Tamil languages let us see howPowerstar creates his mark over there.

Controversies are not new for TFI. We used to see many fanwars between  the fans of top heroes.  Generally those are seen between two bigfamilies in the industry and everyone knows who they are.  Now, another controversy had been startedwhich is going to lead a mouth war between fans. Let us have a glance about thecontroversy...

Once upon a time:   Pokiri created a history in thetollywood by its record collections making with a great number of 48 crores. Thisshowed the stamina of Mahesh to the industry. Rewriting the records of 75 yearsis not a simple task. Mahesh fans felt proud that Mahesh is the top hero of thetollywood. But their happiness doesn’t last for long time. The records have writtenby Technical wonder by Mighty “Magadheera”. Mega Powerstar Ramcharan has shown his power by his second moviewith his power-packed action. So Magadheera is the Number.1 movie of thetollywood. Creating  All time industryrecord in the history of 78 years.

Present situation:  Superstar Maheshbabu is back after his 3years gap with his disaster movie ‘Khaleja’. Though the movie is good inscreen-play and direction the director failed to convince the audience with hisnew concept. So, Mahesh fans felt sad with this situation. But after one year Maheshrocked the Box-office with his blockbuster Movie “Dookudu”. Dookudu is a comedybased action entertainer with all kind of emotions. The movie created therecords on the first day with gross of 10.3 crores. The movie is marked asBlockbuster and marked as a complete entertainer. The movie is released in 1800theatres world-wide with record number. So, the movie had made mightycollections. As per the count shown by the producers the movie made a gross of101 crores till now.

Coming to the point Mega fans are in the dilemma that “How could a comedy movie make suchcollections beating the  mighty technicalwonder?” This leaded to the great controversy in tollywood. Mega fans had challengedMahesh fans to show the records on the sheet officially. Mega fans had thrownthe open challenge in front of Media and showed their vexation in the form ofbanners and flexes about the collections of Magadheera. The banners says “ Magadheera collections ni edhanna cinemacross chesindhani niroopinchina vaariki 1,00,000 bahumathi gaa ivaabaduthundhi”.This says that how the fans are fighting to save their favourite heroesrecords.

One of the Mega fans says that “Maaku Maheshbabu midha kopam emi ledhu. Memu kuda Mahesh niishtapadathaam maa kopam anthaa thappudu lekkalu chupisthunna aa producers paine”.

Who is No.1?

Magadheera and Dookudu both are good movies. Time is runningfor tollywood to face the domination of dubbing movies over telugu movies. Maheshhad saved the industry by giving a memorable hit to tollywood. But this is notenough for us in this situation. Celebratingthe success for only hit and after gap of long time is like Satisfying thethirst with one drop of rain water.

                          Magadheera istechnical wonder and vigilance of S.S.Rajamoulie. The movie gives us great experienceto us by taking into another world. This movie lasts till the death of TeluguCinema which doesn’t happen. This historical subject is the great property oftelugu movie So, conclude yourself which is the best.

Who knows PawanKalyan’s Panja is inqueue which is going to release in record number of theatres. Next to it isBalayya’s Adhinayakudu, Ram Charan’s Racha are in the line too.
