If Tamil hit screen pair Kajal Aggarwal and Karthi are promoting Bru Coffee, Suriya along with his wife Jyothika are associated with Nescafe..

Kajal is growing as a big star in Tamil Nadu. In fact, she is currently doing a film with Suriya in the lead.

In Telugu, she needs no introduction as she is one of the prime contenders for the number one spot. Her "Businessman" is due for release in January and she will be seen with Magadheera Charan.

Karthi's Next Movie with Anshuka........

Friday was 11-11-11. Not ready to miss this unique date, director Suraj started shooting his next film, which has Karthi Sivakumar and Anushka in lead roles. According to sources, the movie hit the floors on a wooden bungalow set erected at Chalakudy in Kerala.

"Suraj, who is known for his commercial entertainers, is bouncing back with this movie. The yet-to-be-titled venture is an action-comedy entertainer. Karthi has almost completed shooting for Saguni, and will now turn his focus on this Suraj-directed movie," sources say.

Popular cinematographer Saravanan, who had directed STR starrer 'Silambattam', will wield the camera, while music is by Devi Sri Prasad. "Known for completing shootings on a fast track, Suraj is expected to wrap up the film at the earliest to make it hit the screens for summer," add sources.

This is first time for Karthi and Anushka to come together.

Anushka plays guest role in Karthi's 'Sakuni'.

Mega Brothers of Kollywood Surya and Karthi had a habit of exchanging the heroines between each other.  After Tamannah and Kajal, Anushka joines the list of heroines who acted with both the brothers. Anushka is going to play a important character in Karthi's latest political satirical movie "Saguni". But this is not a full length. She is going to play guest role at a span of  10 minutes in the movie.Praneetha is the heroine of this movie. This movie is going to release on Pongal 2012.

This year Pongal he roared with 'Siruthai'. And for 2012 Pongal, Karthi Sivakumar will play the gamble with 'Saguni', his first political satire. Produced by K E Gnanavelraja's Studio Green and directed by newcomer Shankar Dayal, the film is in its last schedule of shooting.

"The producer and the director are gearing up to release Saguni for the harvest festival. The film hogs importance in Karthi's career since this is his first venture after getting married. Hence the actor is waiting with bated breath to know the results," informed sources tell us.

A host of popular faces are part of 'Saguni', including Radhika Sarathkumar, Santhanam and of course, the heroine Pranitha of 'Udhayan' fame. The movie will be simultaneously released in Telugu as 'Sakuni' since the actor has a good market in Andhra Pradesh.

"An audio launch function will take place for Saguni in Chennai in the month of December, after which promotions will start in full swing," sources add. Remember Studio Green is known for its aggressive promotional activities which would make its films grab attention.

Sources say that Karthi might take a break from Saguni and start director Suraj's film in November-mid and then he would return to complete Saguni. Hence the delay in its release.

Karthi’s Saguni has no Villain - Says Director Shankar Dayal

Karthi's forthcoming political satire, 'Saguni', will do away from clichéd racy political thrillers where the hero beats up goons and baddies or dons the role of a politician to teach his villain a lesson.

 We all know that Karthi is presently busy in the shooting of Saguni. Shankar Daya, the director of the movie Saguni. The film maker says that he wrote the script keeping Karthi in his mind. He added that, “Karthi’s role is tricky one. It’s a character of common man facing certain problems. Karthi is simply rocking”.

“Saguni has no villains. The story is fully rounding the Saguni that is our Karthi. It is a story of one who can change the entire entire critical situation against him as a possible way for him”.

While speaking to a media publication recently, the director confirmed this. Karthi, after facing tussles in his village, moves to Chennai where certain circumstances lead him to opt for politics.

"Although people perceive the very name Saguni to a person who is cunning, we can't forget that Saguni is one of the most intelligent persons in an epic, that's why the director chose this title for the film, as it is apt for Karthi's character", say sources in the know. "Karthi's character has negative shades in the film, but in the end, he does it all for the good of the society", they further add. In fact, it is said that his character, at certain portions will remind one of corporate lobbyist Nira Radia, of 2G spectrum scam.

Quoted the director, "The film doesn't have a clichéd climax of the hero smashing up the goons. It's a different screenplay and I wrote the script keeping Karthi in mind".

With good on-screen chemistry between Karthi and Pranitha, a political satire without villains and Karthi in part grey shades, 'Saguni' sure looks like a promising venture.

Rumour mills have it that Karthi's character in his forthcoming political satire, 'Saguni' will remind one of Nira Radia, a corporate lobbyist who is pivotal in the 2G spectrum scam issue that shocked the nation!

It is said the Karthi's character undergoes drastic changes through the course of the film and will, at certain scenes, remind one of this lobbyist. 'Saguni' is directed by Shankar Dayal and Pranitha plays Karthi's lady love in the film. It also has Radhika Sarathkumar in a pivotal role and Santhanam to provide comic relief.

'Saguni', a pucca mass masala entertainer will highlight upon some of the social evils, but in a non-preachy manner.

Although it is known that Karthi plays an ordinary commoner turned politician in his upcoming 'Saguni' where he is paired with Kollywood's new entrant Pranitha, rumour mills have more on this front now.

Karthi comes from rural places to Chennai for employment and when he starts working for a company, a few mishaps in his family lead to sudden turn of events and Karthi enters politics. Once he steps into the political scenario, family members of top-notch ruling party members are murdered in a gruesome manner which is the crux of the film.

There are twists at regular intervals that will keep audience engaged to the movie till the very end say sources in the know. The film also has Radhika Sarathkumar essaying a pivotal role.

It maybe mentioned that the makers in a recent interview expressed that the title, 'Saguni', is not about a cunning person how usually most perceive it to be so, but about someone smart to solve critical problems.

The climax of the film is said to be one of the USPs, a key to success we'd say. The film is directed by Shankar Dayal and is being produced under Dream Warrior Pictures.

Director Shankar Dayal has confirmed that seventy percent of the shoot of his debut film 'Saguni', which stars Karthi Sivakumar and Pranitha in lead roles, was over and the rest will be completed soon.

"The movie has taken shape well. Almost all the characters in 'Saguni', especially that of Karthi's, are positive thinkers and they would instill a sense of confidence in the minds of the audience," he says.

Explaining the reason behind naming the film 'Saguni', he said, "Many feel Saguni is a negative title. But there is a positive side to it. The Saguni character in the great epic Mahabharatha is a symbol of intelligence."

Throwing light on the film's storyline, he said, “It is about an innocent young man, who comes to the city from a village. At a time when he admires everything he sees at the metropolis, how his life undergoes a change forms the crux.”

Karthi dubs for another Telugu release

Karthi has been very clever and always makes the right moves where his career is concerned. Given his huge fan following in Andhra Pradesh, the actor has decided to release Paruthiveeran, his debut film in Tamil with Ameer in Telugu. He just completed the dubbing work at AVM Studios. The film will be released soon in AP.
