Jiiva's next flick with Ahmed

Jiiva and director Ahmed of 'Vamanan' fame are coming together for a project. Now we have more on this front. The tunes for this film will be composed by Harris Jayaraj who is currently busy with his music tour 'On The Edge'.

"Ahmed has penned a script, which impressed Jiiva a lot. Hence the actor expressed his consent to be part of the movie. Following this, the director is busy doing preliminary works to start the project," say informed sources. Richa, who has become a 'most wanted' actress in Kollywood, thanks to 'Osthi' opposite STR and 'Mayakkam Enna' with Dhanush, has been approached by Ahmed to share the screen space with Jiiva in this yet-to-be-titled film. Will Richa pair with this hero too…????

Dr V Ramadoss and GKM Tamil Kumaran have come together with a passion to render quality films for South India movie lovers through this yet-to-be-titled venture. The film is a romantic musical comedy and will be shot extensively in Seychelles, Malaysia and other exotic locations in Europe.

Talking about the project, Ahmed says, ' It is a light-hearted musical with a strong storyline, dealing with themes like father and son relationship, friendship, youth and love. On his part, Jiiva says, ' The storyline is impressive and I am confident that it will be a visual and musical treat for viewers'.

Dr V. Ramadoss is a medical practitioner and a passionate entrepreneur. He has left his mark in various industries like medicine, food processing and hospitality, retail, media, gaming and entertainment. Being an avid film lover, he wants to ensure that quality films are churned from his end.

The film is expected to be on floors by January 2012 after Jiiva completes shooting for Gautham Menon's project, 'Neethanae En Ponvasantham'. Prominent technicians and apt cast will be roped in for the venture and an announcement on the other cast and crew will be made shortly.

The latest buzz doing rounds in Kollywood is that director Mysskin's Mugamoodi with Jiiva in the lead is likely to go on floors in November.

Jiiva will play the role of a super hero, which means he is all set to become Tamil cinema's first super hero. Mugamoodi will be the first super hero movie for UTV in Tamil.

'Vandhaan Vendraan' - A Glimpse

Jiiva's forthcoming 'Vandhaan Vendraan' is much-expected by fans and the film is touted to hit the screens on September 16. Today, the film passed the censor board and was given a clean 'U' certificate. It is said that the board members thoroughly enjoyed watching this film.

The film directed by Kannan has Jiiva and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles with Nanda playing the baddie. Santhanam is on-board to provide comic relief and tunes are set in by Thaman.

Jiiva plays a boxer and it is said that Taapsee plays a chirpy young girl in the first half whereas there's a drastic change in her character as the film progresses. With a promising director who believes the script to be his first hero and young talents, 'Vandhaan Vendraan' is definitely one wholesome entertainer to look forward to this month.

Santhanam in a new look with Gautham's 'Neethane En Ponvasantham'

Well if you’re wondering what we are referring to, Gautham Menon has roped in a comedian for the second time in his films so far! Santhanam who is ruling the roost in Tamil cinema has booked himself a berth in 'Neethane En Ponvasantham'. Gautham had earlier worked with Vivek in 'Minnalae' that starred Maddy and Reema Sen.
Santhanam plays an important role in this film and Gautham insists that he will be presenting not just Jiiva, but also Santhanam differently. So does he have a love story as well in this film, we'll have to wait to know that...

Tunes will be composed by AR Rahman. Costumes are designed by Nalini Sriram who was well-accredited for her casual styling that revamped Simbu's image in VTV.

The film has also been officially announced in Telugu with Ram playing protagonist, and Samantha again as the heroine. The film is titled 'Nithya', after her character, in the Telugu version.

Not just that, grapevine is abuzz that Gautham will be making this film a trilingual by making it simultaneously in Hindi as well, again with Samantha as heroine! If all goes well, it will mark Samantha's debut in Bollywood. An official announcement on this front will be made soon.

Neethaane En Ponvasantham – Jiiva & Gautham

Gautham Menon's next offering with Jiiva and Samanatha is going the 'Vinnathandi Varavuya' way, as the film will go on floors as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu! Jiiva and Samantha are on-board 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' whilst Samantha also has a confirmed berth in the Telugu version.

Ram of 'Kandireega' fame is touted to play protagonist in the Telugu version. AR Rahman is composing the tunes for the film. Gautham Menon's Photon Kathaas is producing 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham'.

As the posters suggest the film will be a breezy romantic entertainer with Jiiva as Raghu, a 21-year old engineering student and Samantha as Nithya, a psychology student.

It may be mentioned that Gautham Menon's earlier with Simbu - Trisha, 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaya' was a bilingual and released as 'Ye Maaya Chesave' with Naga Chaithanya and Samantha in Telugu that tasted success at the BO. We hope this romantic entertainer, again, repeats Gautham's magic among the Tamil and Telugu masses...
