"Sholay" to be remade in Tamil????

Vijay and Ajith in Sholay remake
These days Vijay and Ajith fans seem to get closer. It is because both the actors are showing good bond between them at various occasions. Now the news is that some big wig producers are planning to rope Vijay and Ajith the top two actors in the remake of yesteryear blockbuster Sholay starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra along with Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan in the female lead.

Jai and Veeru (the heroes) are very close friends who robs to live their life. At one point a police officer catches and jails them. One day the police officer makes a deal, to kill the most dreaded goonda of his village Gabbar (Amjad). These two eventually accept the offer and how they eliminate Gabbar in the end is the story.

If this becomes true then this will be big comeback for the Ajith and Vijay combo after 16 long years. Their last combo was seen in the 1995 film Rajavin parvaiyilae.

Ajith injured in sets of "Billa 2"

Ajith injured in billa 2
Tension prevailed on the sets of 'Billa 2', after Ajith was injured while performing a stunt sequence. "But it was a minor injury and the Thala was back to normalcy within minutes. He was the only one who was very cool and relaxed at that moment," sources say. He was his usual self, always working on increasing efficiency and productivity' sources add.

"It was a pulsating action scene which demanded Ajith to break bottles by hitting them on baddies. While throwing one such bottle, it broke all of a sudden and slit Ajith's hand. The set got panicky, but for Ajith who was all fine with it," they add.

"It was a small cut, but blood was oozing out of the injured spot. Ajith was immediately given first aid. After taking rest for some time, he resumed work and performed that scene with ease and elan. It will be one of the highlights of the movie," sources further say.

Directed by Chakri Toleti (of 'Unnaipol Oruvan' fame), 'Billa 2' has Parvathy Omanakuttan opposite Ajith. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music. Since 'Billa 2' follows 'Mankatha' which has set new records in the box office, expectations are high on the movie.

Ajith's new heroine in 'Billa 2': Parvathy Omanakuttan!

We read sometime back that Huma Qureshi, who was roped in to romance Ajith in 'Billa 2', might not be a part of the movie due to some 'unavoidable reasons'. Now it is learnt that the makers of the movie have found a replacement, and it is Parvathy Omanakuttan!

Parvathy Omanakuttan, the Femina Miss India World 2008, made her cinematic debut through the Bollywood flick 'United Six' directed by Vishal Aryan Singh. She later signed a Malayalam  film titled 'Madan Kolli' by Major Ravi, in which she had to play dual roles; one that of a police officer and the other that of a vampire. In 2010 she appeared in 'Uma Maheshwaram' in Tamil.

"Parvathy is very happy to act opposite a big star like Ajith. She was aware of the history of 'Billa' and was thrilled to sign the project. She will join the film's unit in Goa, where some important scenes are being shot," sources close to the project say.

A prequel to 'Billa', Ajith's 2007 super hit which is a remake of a Superstar Rajinikanth starrer of the same title, 'Billa 2' is being directed by Chakri Toleti of 'Unnaipol Oruvan' fame. The shooting is nearing completion and the movie would hit the screens by the beginning of 2012.

Ajith’s next is Billa 2,Jeyam Raja clears the air
The latest buzz about Ajith’s next film is that Jeyam Raja is going to direct Ajith Kumar. But the Jeyam Raja has cleared the air about the rumours. The director, who is busy with the pre-production works of his forthcoming Tamil movie Velayudham, claimed that he had a casual chat with Thala about his future project.

The filmmaker said that he had a small chat with Ajith Kumar during the shooting of Velayudham, when the actor was filming his Mankatha at Binny Bills. He adds that nothing has been confirmed yet and currently he is not thinking anything other than his upcoming Tamil movie, which stars Vijay, Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani in the leads.

Meanwhile, there are many rumours floating on the internet about Ajith Kumar's future projects.

As of now, Ajith Kumar is busy with Billa 2.

Ajith on his Spiritual line...Following his Mentor????

The spiritualist in Ajith is in full form of late. The Thala has been regularly visiting places of worship and is even planning to leave for Himalayas. "Rajini sir had told me a lot about the holy mountain. I am eagerly waiting for an opportunity to go there," he says.

"Recently, I visited Guruvayur and Chottanikarai temples in Kerala, Chamundeeswari and Moogambikai shrines in Karnataka and Nagoor and Velankanni in Tamil Nadu. I also took a padha yatra to Tirupati from Thiruvanmiyur four times," discloses Ajith.

"It takes five days for me to reach Tirumala from Chennai. We a gang of friends have made it a regular habit to go on a padha yatra to worship Lord Balaji. Now, after reading the books gifted by the Superstar, I am seriously planning to go to Himalayas."

Saying that it wish is that everyone should remember him as a gentleman, Ajith says, "There is no point in earning bad name. The success of one's life is in the goodwill he/she creates. It will speak a lot on our behalf."

"I am Rajini's Ekalaiva" – Ajith

Comparing his relationship with Superstar Rajinikanth with that of Ekalaiva and Dhronacharya in the great epic Mahabharata, Ajith has said he had learnt many things from the numero uno actor of Tamil cinema by watching him from distance.

"I shaped up my career on the lines of Rajini sir. Like how there was no one to support him when he made his foray in the industry, I too didn't have anyone to back me up. But I got enough inspiration from the Superstar. He is my Dhronacharya and I am his Ekalaiva," said the 'Thala'.

Saying that he would like to dedicate the success of his 50th film 'Mankatha' to Rajini, Ajith said, "At the same time, I would like to personally express my gratitude to each member of the cast and crew, who gave nothing but their best to Mankatha."

On many young actors of Tamil film industry considering him as their role model, the star, who is currently busy shooting for 'Billa 2', said, "The mere word 'thanks' is not enough to express my feelings. Honestly speaking, I don't know how to react."

Meanwhile, when a leading daily quizzed him whether he will enter politics, Ajith expressed that he strongly feels each citizen should do their duty which is more than enough. Quoted the Thala, "I act, earn, pay taxes, do the little good I can, vote and take care of my family. I expect my fans will do the same. Leave politics to the Government, they'll take care. It’s no good if everyone enters politics. We talk of corruption and bribery, but I strongly believe each Indian is responsible for this. How many of us follow basic things such as traffic rules in our lives? Let’s do our duty, even that’s as good as politics".

Ajith wants to fight with Rajini!!!!

Ajith has expressed his longtime wish- that he wants to play villain in a film starring Superstar Rajinikanth. "It should be a dreaded baddie role and I should be beaten like anything by Rajini sir. This is my lifetime ambition," says the Thala.

The actor, who had played a role with negative shades in 'Mankatha', adds: "It would be a great delight to work with Rajini sir. And it would be doubly so if I could get the villain's role in one of his forthcoming films."

Interestingly, it has apparently been Ajith's penchant to do characters with negative shades. He had done it before in 'Vaalee', 'Villain', 'Attagasam' and 'Varalaru', with the highlight being his 50th film 'Mankatha', in which he was seen in a full-fledged negative role- that of a man who would do anything for money.

Meanwhile, the 'Thala' is busy shooting for 'Billa 2' in Goa and is said to be satisfied with the working style of director Chakri Toleti. A couple of days ago, Ajith announced that he might retain his salt-pepper looks post 'Billa 2' and would concentrate on doing characters that suit his age.

Mankatha coming up as 'Gambler' in Telugu

Ajit Kumar's latest film 'Mankatha' with Trisha pairing up in the female lead was released recently in Tamil Nadu and got record openings, which are higher than Tamil Super Star Rajanikanth's film 'Enthiran'.

This is the 50th film in Ajit's career and hence it evoked lots of craze among the audiences in general and his fans in particular. Almost all the websites, film magazines and other presented rave reviews for the movie.

Bellamkonda Suresh bagged the dubbing rights of the film for Telugu and the dubbing works are in brisk progress. The producer announced the title of the Telugu version as 'Gambler'.

Nagarjuna was supposed to play a cameo in the film but he was replaced by Arjun due to dates problem, while Vaibhav played another key role in the movie.

The film was directed by Venkat Prabhu and Yuvan Shankar Raja scored the music.

'Race' to roll in Tamil with Ajith????????

'Race' a 2008 Bollywood super hit might see a remake in Tamil soon! Dhananjayan Govind of UTV expressed, "UTV is serious about remaking Race in Tamil and thanks to one of Ajith's fan's idea to make it with Ajith sir, let's hope we can crack this".

True to its title, 'Race' was a racy action thriller that boasted off an ensemble of star cast including Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif and showcased betrayal within a family, all for money. And now, the very word 'money' reminds one of Ajith after his spectacular performance as a baddie in 'Mankatha' and his go-getter attitude in the film, all for money.

It maybe mentioned that Ajith is currently busy with work on 'Billa 2' where he plays an underworld don, a prequel to his earlier success 'Billa'. His character as David in this film has a good dose of grey shades as well.

Looks like playing baddie works luck for Ajith for he pulls off a great villain. The team is yet to approach Ajith and the rest of the crew is yet to be zeroed on.

'Mankatha', a massive hit in USA

Thala Ajith's 'Mankatha' has tasted success in USA as well, as all the shows were sold out on the very first day! It is also expected to fair well this weekend. In fact, Big Cinemas responded immediately by adding multiple shows due to high customer demand and the management from Big Cinemas expressed that they have never seen a response such as this since Superstar's 'Endhiran'!

The response from smaller centers such as Seattle, Phoenix, Charlotte, and Columbus had record breaking attendance during weekdays.

'Mankatha' with record openings than 'Robot'

Venkat Prabhu directed the prestigious 50th film of Ultimate Star Ajit, with the title 'Mankatha'. There was a gossip that Nagarjuna was asked to play cameo in the film, but he could not adjust the dates due to his pre-occupation with other projects. Arjun replaced Nagarjuna in the role. Trisha paired up with the hero.

The Tamil version was produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri on the banner of Cloud Nine Movies. As Ajit is a known face in Telugu with films like 'Prema Lekha' and other such films, Multi- Dimension Films bought the dubbing rights of the prestigious film and started the dubbing and other post-production works in Telugu.

Though earlier it was planned to release the film simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, the Tamil version of the film had hit the screens on August 31.

Surprisingly, the film was proved a biggest hit and reportedly had the highest openings in Tamil which surpassed the records of Tamil Super Star Rajanikanth's 'Robot'.

Let us hope Ajit would repeat the same magic in Telugu, as dubbed films are ruling the roost in Telugu these days.
