Aprilia Releasing the More Affordable 2010 Aprilia RSV4 R

Aprilia is expected to reveal its new model, the RSV4 R, at the Imola SBK race. This will be a more affordable successor to the highly successful Aprilia RSV4 Factory. It will feature the same engine, while cutting back costs by going for a cheaper suspension. The bike has a 180bhp 65° V4 engine, and will be competing against the likes of the BMW S1000RR. Expected to cost around $15,000 this will definitely be a much more affordable option than the BMW S1000RR.

The RSV4 R has undergone several modifications to the frame and engine to achieve the cut back on the cost. In the engine for instance, they replaced the lightweight magnesium covers with cheaper aluminum items. They ditch the old Ohlins suspension and replace them with fully adjustable Showa forks and a Sachs rear shock.
While majestically carrying all its Italian glory, this machine makes us crave for a chance to hop on.
