Telugu movie buffs always welcome originality and film makers cross the conventional barriers often to entertain the audience. In last two years, Ram Charan and Anushka created a new wave of 'FANTASY' in Tollywood that paved the way for new releases in this entire year.
The new wave created by 'Magadheera' and 'Arundathi' in fantasy films is ruling the TFI with year long releases of high budget films from top heroes. Rather than going for regular stories, Jr NTR has shown interest in fantasy subject of 'Shakti', which is ready for release in month end. While Allu Arjun's 'Badrinath' and Nagarjuna's 'Dhamarukam' are in the pipeline with budgets of above 40 crores.
Prabhas upcoming fantasy flick with Rajamouli, Allu Arjun's next with Selvaraghavan, Rajamouli's Eega are the diverse faces of fantasy mixed with various other commercial elements. The magnum opus of Surya Prakash's 'Anaganaga O Dheerudu' is not to be forgotten. Although Ram Charan and Anushka tested the new formula, there is no necessity for other producers to follow the herd mentality and copy the same till death. What remains to be seen is how long this fantasy wave earns benefits for producers.
