Movie  : Ala Modalaindi

Director  : Nandini Reddy
Producer : KL Damodar Prasad

Rating: 3.25/5

Nani, Nitya Menon starrer Ala Modalaindi is a  new romantic movie. Ala Modalaindi is a romantic comedy and it stays sincere to the genre. Debutante director Nandini Reddy takes up this challenge and comes up with a fresh treatment.Nitya Menon as a heroine with Ala Modalaindi. The film also casts Sneha Ullal and Kirti Karbanda in cameo roles and Ashish Vidyarthi, Chaitanya, Rohini, Pragathi, CVL Narasimha Rao in key roles.

Performances: The performances of the lead characters are definitely a plus to Ala Modalaindi.
Nani gives an energetic performance throughout with ease in his dialogues and body language.
Nitya Menon gives an amazing performance in his debutant film. She is a treat to watch with her cute looks. The actress dubbed her own voice and also sang couple of songs which is praiseworthy.
Ashish Vidhyarti is perfect as a comedy villain, Sneha Ullal does a convincing job in the cameo role, Rohini as hero’s mother does justice to the role. Snehageetham Chaitanya is good. Hemanth does an entertaining role. Rest of the roles made their presence felt to the story.

Technical:
Kalayani Malik’s background score was good and the songs which were shot in some real locations are impressive. Cinematography by Arjun Jena was a minus point with the dull visual appeal. Editing could have been better in the first-half but Ala Modalaindi has good script and some fresh dialogues.
Director Nandini Reddy showcased her directorial skills with a good script but screenplay could have been better as few scenes made the viewers bored. First few scenes in the film were boring and fails to grab the viewers attention but the movie slowly picks up its momentum and keeps you entertained with laugh out loud scenes in the last forty minutes of run time.

Analysis:
Ala Modalaindi has some freshly written scenes and every once in a while it impresses you with that intelligent writing. Although film has some hiccups in the middle as the screenplay lags, it never loses the audience attention due to witty dialogue and wonderful performances. Nandini Reddy throws few surprises towards the end when we expect the film to end on a routine note. That has turned out to be the major asset to this film.

Last half hour is a laugh riot. That itself is worth your ticket price. Rest of the film is a bonus. People who love watch romantic comedies shouldn’t miss this one.

Inka Kavala..!
