BMW Group MINI E Scooter Concept

The automotive brand owned by the BMW Group, MINI said it plans to introduce an electric scooter concept at the upcoming Paris Auto Show, scheduled to run from October 2 to 17. The automaker announced the MINI E Scooter Concept on its Facebook page along with some design sketches last week.

The sketches of the new MINI E concept scooter unveils a two wheeler with distinctive MINI styling including chrome accents, oval mirrors and over-sized speedometer. The MINI E Scooter bears has a logo and yellow paint of the MINI E Electric car.
It is widely anticipated that the BMW subsidiary’s MINI E Scooter Concept is only a tie-in to promote MINI E car which will begin additional field testing in Germany.

The description in the Facebook page reads, “Ever seen a MINI on two wheels? Be the first to see an electric vision of the future as urban mobility by MINI takes a new direction. Keep your eyes open for the world premiere at the Paris Motor Show 2010.”

According to a report that appeared in Motrocycle.com, it is concluded that MINI will not be the only manufacturer to introduce electric scooter concept at the Paris Auto Show. It is expected that Daimler-Benz, parent company to BMW’s German rival Mercedes-Benz will also unveil its own electric scooter under its Smart brand.
